Larch Cladding Boards V PROFILE (V)
Crafted from high-quality, slow-grown larch, these cladding boards feature a dynamic profile with V-shaped shadow gaps. This unique, narrower, and sharper profile design ensures easier installation. Ideal for residential and commercial projects.
- Produced from premium slow-grown larch wood, dried to approximately 16-18% moisture content (+/- 2%).
- Can be treated to achieve a fire rating of Euroclass B-s1, d0.
- Cladding sections can be installed both horizontally and vertically.
- Smooth finish with V-shaped shadow gaps.
- Natural colour – not oiled.
Discover the unparalleled qualities of larch wood, a remarkable material renowned for its exceptional resilience and durability. This unique wood surpasses metal in cold resistance and boasts hardwood-like properties with the hardness of stone. Contrary to many materials, larch wood strengthens over time when exposed to moisture, making it an excellent choice for various construction applications.
Durability
- Larch wood is naturally durable, classified as Class 3 according to BS EN 350-2, making it ideal for outdoor use due to several key factors:
- Chemical Composition: Its inherent chemical properties provide substantial resistance to decay, positioning it among the hardest and most durable softwoods available.
- High Density: The wood’s dense structure impedes decay organisms from penetrating, enhancing its longevity.
- Longevity: When properly treated and maintained, larch wood can last between 50 to 100 years even in outdoor conditions.
- Natural Longevity: Unlike other woods, larch does not require treatment to preserve its durability. Any finishes applied are primarily for aesthetic purposes.
Density
Larch wood is highly dense, with a classification of approximately 630 kg/m³ at 18% moisture content according to BS EN 350-2. This density makes it highly resistant to damage, making it suitable for exposed locations or areas prone to scratches and impacts.
Stability
Our larch wood products are kiln-dried using convection drying processes, ensuring uniform drying and optimal stability.
For superior dimensional stability, we recommend using narrower widths, such as 120 mm and 95 mm, which further enhance the wood’s performance.
Choose larch wood for a robust, long-lasting, and aesthetically pleasing construction material that stands the test of time.
